Jeyb Classic talks about his music career and inspiration behind his new song dubbed Sonko

Question: Kindly introduce yourself, who is Jeybclassic?
Answer: My name is Jeybclassic came from the word classic things coz all I want is to do classic music.
Question: How did you come up with your stage name?
Answer: immediately the day mheshimiwa Jaguar told me that I can do classic things
Question: Give us a background on your music career journey?
Answer: I started music back in 2003, by then I used to sing along the streets and at school and people were really enjoining my music.
Question: Describe your sound?
Answer: My sound is that for attraction, I don’t know really but people normally tell me that
Question: What was the inspiration behind Sonko?
Answer: I normally love Governor Sonko and his work, you can also compare the Nairobi we had before and the one we have now so many things have changed.
Question: How do you market yourself?
Answer: Marketing myself has not been that easy but I do try through sharing the link of my warm with my funs
Question: The industry is full of cut-throat competition. What is unique about you that sets you apart from the rest?
Answer: even though kuna competition but to me, all I want is to reach my name so far
Question: What challenges have you encountered as a music group in the music industry? How have you been able to overcome those challenges?
Answer: The rise of this Mp called Jaguar he is the one who fought me that I can do it in the music industry
Question: In your opinion who is the most influential and successful artiste in your genre today and why?
Answer: Otile brown coz he normally inspires me a lot
Question: Do you make your own beats and write your own lyrics? If you don’t do any of this by yourself, how do you get this done?
Answer: My beats I normally make with my producer and I do write my own songs
Question: If you could choose to work with some of today’s established artists or producers to move your game to the top, with whom would you work with?
Answer: if I was to work with today’s artist Otile Brown would be the first priority if it came to producer Magix Enga would be my best.
Question: Which latest songs, videos, or mixtape releases are currently available to your fans and where can they be heard or downloaded?
Answer: My latest project is titled tukule Ngoma and because i have not finished working on it I still have it on hand.
Question: Are you under a record label or an independent artist?
Answer: am still an independent artist
Question: Is going platinum or winning a Grammy important to you, and if you were forced to make only one choice, which of the two would you choose and why?
Answer: Going platinum is important to me because I want the name Jeybclassic to reach millions of people
Question: Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
Answer: In the next 5years I want to be with my own studio so that I can help the other talented artists outside there
Question: What in your opinion is the biggest barrier an artist like yourself, has to face and overcome to gain any commercial success?
Answer: You know it doesn’t matter where you came from what matters a lot is what you want to be
Question: Any advice to aspiring young artists?
Answer: To the young artist they should focus forward and never lose hope
Question: In closing, tell us something about any projects and ideas you have in store or are already working on?
